Living in the jungle means that we live around lots of trees.  We frequently need to cut down trees (typically for safety reasons) or clean up trees that fall.  We always have a lot of stumps and tree trunks around campus and we would like to put those to good use!  A wood chipper would allow us to use the wood from these trees to turn them to mulch and compost.

*Praise the Lord funds have been donated toward meeting this need by allowing us to provide a small stipend to each volunteer for the 2024 school-year.  We are so grateful!

In 2023, and again in 2024, God provided...

In 2023, and again in 2024, God provided funds to give each volunteer a small monthly stipend.  It was a special moment to see their faces when we were able to share the news with the volunteers that they would be receiving these funds each month.  Generally, we have around 20-25 missionaries each year and ALL of them are here on a volunteer basis.  None of them expect any compensation for their service and they were truly humbled when they heard that donations made this possible.  While we are incredibly grateful for what has been provided, many of our volunteers receive no financial support outside of this stipend.  Our prayer is that we will be able to continue to provide the stipend, and God willing...a bit more to help them not only cover these basic needs, but also to help them with things like travel for various reasons (visa’s, medical needs, family emergencies, etc.) and to visit their families back home and get some rest during​

Construction Projects

We are working on several projects including... 

1. Install drop ceilings to dorms and houses attached to dorms.  This will help minimize or prevent bugs and bats from entering the living quarters.

2. Remodel (or disassemble and move) a staff house.  This house has several pressing issues, including stabilizing the floor throughout the entire house and redoing the bathrooms (especially the showers) due to mold issues.  We will get a better idea of whether we need to move it or leave it where it is once we get a chance to evaluate it.  Either way, we need to make some improvements to this house.

3. Finishing two additional staff homes.  Both of the houses are built but much of the inside needs to be finished in both.  In one, we need to finish the bathrooms, two bedrooms, doors for the outside and the inside, screens for several of the windows, ceilings, tile floors and several other items.  In the other, nothing on the inside is finished, the kitchen and bathrooms are piped but they need everything...sinks, showers, and toilets, window screens, doors, drop ceilings, tiles on the floors, paint, septic, water tank.  Essentially, the rooms have walls but everything else needs to be done.  

Without housing, we cannot accommodate volunteers and volunteers are essential in order to carry out our work.  The houses provide a place for singles and/or families to live so that they can serve here at Eben-Ezer.

Each dorm on campus at Eben-Ezer needs to have it's own water tank and tower.  These provide water for the bathrooms in the dorm and the staff house along with the kitchen in the staff house.  The tank and tower that provides water to one of the dorms is falling apart and needs to be replaced.
